Lycée Montaigne (Paris)

The Lycée Montaigne is identifiable by its long, expansive façade running along the Rue Auguste Comte, directly bordering the southern edge of the Jardin du Luxembourg. Built between eighteen eighty-two and eighteen eighty-five by the architect Charles Le Cœur, this public school was originally established as a boarding annex for the nearby Lycée Louis-le-Grand. It gained its own name and independent status in eighteen ninety-one, eventually growing into a prominent institution that houses over one thousand students across its middle and high school levels.
