Deyrolle

Deyrolle is recognizable by its historic storefront at forty-six rue du Bac, an address that houses one of the oldest cabinets of curiosities in the world. Founded in eighteen thirty-one by the entomologist Jean-Baptiste Deyrolle, the shop was built on a passion for natural history, supplying researchers and schools with everything from mounted animals to anatomical models. By the late nineteenth century, the family firm became the primary provider of scientific teaching materials for French schools, distributing thousands of colorful wall charts that illustrated botany, zoology, and anatomy to students across the globe.
