Montagne Sainte-Geneviève

The Montagne Sainte-Geneviève rises sixty-one meters above the left bank of the Seine, standing as a prominent hill where the ancient Romans once established their city of Lutetia. Known in that era as Mons Lucotitius, the site later earned its enduring name from an abbey dedicated to Saint Geneviève, the patron saint said to have protected Paris from barbarian invasions through her prayers on these very slopes.
