Hôtel d'Aumont

The Hôtel d’Aumont is recognized by its classical facade on rue de Jouy, featuring a monumental doorway framed by two small, story-high pavilions. This private mansion was commissioned in the sixteen forties by Michel-Antoine Scarron, a royal advisor who demolished an existing medieval structure to build a residence in the modern style. Shortly after its completion in sixteen forty-eight, the building passed to his son-in-law, Antoine d’Aumont, a marshal of France.
