The Madelonnettes Convent once occupied a large rectangle of land between the rue des Fontaines-du-Temple, the rue Volta, and the rue du Vertbois. Today, only a small remnant of a wall remains at number six rue des Fontaines-du-Temple to mark its existence. Established in sixteen eighteen by a wine merchant named Robert de Montry, the site began as a refuge for women seeking redemption.
