Rue des Rosiers is a narrow, three hundred three meter path that winds through the heart of the Marais district. You can identify the street by the original, medieval layout of its buildings and the remnants of the twelfth-century wall built by King Philippe Auguste, which once ran directly alongside the road. The street takes its name from the rosebushes that historically grew against these old fortifications.
