The Saint-Ambroise church is marked by two symmetrical, sixty-eight-meter-tall towers that rise above the bustling Boulevard Voltaire. Constructed between eighteen sixty-three and eighteen sixty-eight, the building was part of Baron Haussmann’s massive transformation of Paris. Architect Théodore Ballu designed the structure in an eclectic style, blending neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic elements to create a grand, stone facade that stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding nineteenth-century apartments.
