La Maison Rouge, founded by collector Antoine de Galbert, was once a prominent center for contemporary art located at ten Boulevard de la Bastille. Occupying a former printworks, the space earned its name from an old red farmhouse that sat at the heart of the industrial structure. Architects Jean-Yves Clément and artist Jean-Michel Alberola renovated the two-thousand-square-meter building to host exhibitions that cycled through the work of living artists and private art collections.
