Street Art Panier

landmark

Le Panier is the oldest quarter in Marseille, built on the site of Greek Massalia around six hundred BCE. You can identify the neighborhood by the dense, narrow lanes that forced residents to pile houses four or five stories high, leaving little space for large murals. Instead of expansive gable walls, the street art here occupies garage doors, electricity meters, metal shutters, and stair risers.
