The Clocher des Accoules is identified by its octagonal bell tower, which rises as a distinct medieval remnant in the historic Panier district. This structure originally formed part of a grander Gothic church, but it is the only portion that survived the upheaval of the French Revolution. In seventeen ninety-four, authorities ordered the demolition of the main building because local political insurgents had used it as a meeting place.
