Église Saint-Laurent

religious

The Église Saint-Laurent is built from distinctive pink stone quarried at Cap Couronne. Perched on a hill called La Tourette, this Romanesque structure overlooks the Old Port and neighbors the Fort Saint-Jean. Since at least the thirteenth century, it has been recognized as the parish church for the fishermen and seafarers of Marseille.
