The Herboristerie du Père Blaize occupies a corner at four to six Rue Méolan, distinguishable by a traditional storefront of aged wood. Founded in eighteen fifteen by Toussaint Blaize, a healer who migrated from the Hautes-Alpes to Marseille, this pharmacy specializes in the medicinal use of plants. Toussaint established the shop to leverage the city’s port, which brought him exotic herbs and spices from around the globe to blend with the local flora he had studied in the Ecrins valley.
