Professor-Huber-Platz

Professor-Huber-Platz is marked by a large Roman-style fountain with an octagonal base and an iron-cast column standing over eight meters high. Along with the adjacent Geschwister-Scholl-Platz, it forms the eastern entrance forum to the main building of Ludwig Maximilian University. The square was named in nineteen forty-six to honor Kurt Huber, a professor of philosophy and psychology who was a member of the White Rose, a resistance group that challenged the National Socialist regime.
