Budapest Inner-City Mother Church of Our Lady of the Assumption

The Inner-City Mother Church of Our Lady of the Assumption sits just inches away from the busy traffic at the Pest end of the Elisabeth Bridge. You can distinguish the building by the massive, tan-colored walls that incorporate stone remains from the Roman fortress of Contra-Aquincum. This is the oldest church in Pest, with foundations that reach back to the eleventh century.
