Ramanlal Vithaldas and Company, often called Raman Vithal or RV, began in nineteen forty-seven when Vithaldas Bhagwandas Sanghvi opened a small one hundred and fifty square foot shop. While the dried fruit trade was then largely centered on selling unsorted, bulk commodities, Sanghvi shifted his focus toward strict grading and quality control. He personally inspected each batch, selling only premium items in his shop and returning lower-grade stock to the wholesale market.
