The Parmanandas Jivandas Hindu Gymkhana occupies a prominent space at Marine Lines. It is recognizable as a sprawling, open sports ground situated near the coast, serving as a landmark for both cricket and local community events. Originally founded in eighteen seventy-eight as the Hindu Cricket Club by students from Elphinstone High School, the institution spent years seeking a permanent home. In eighteen ninety-two, the group secured this land, and the pavilion was officially inaugurated on May fifth, eighteen ninety-four, by Lord Harris, then the Governor of Bombay.
