The Placa del Encuentro Moctezuma-Cortés is a small commemorative marker mounted on the exterior wall of the Hospital de Jesús, situated at the intersection of Pino Suárez and República de El Salvador streets. This stone plaque designates the location where historical accounts and local tradition place the first face-to-face meeting between the Aztec emperor Moctezuma Xocoyotzin and the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés on November 8, 1519.
