Annapurna Temple

The Annapurna Temple is defined by its three-tiered pagoda roof, which rises above the heavy foot traffic of the Ason Bazaar. You can recognize it by the gilded metalwork that often catches the sunlight, particularly on the finial and the carved wooden struts that support the overhanging eaves. Inside, the temple diverges from tradition; rather than housing a statue of a deity, the sanctum contains a silver vessel known as a kalash, which is kept filled with grain to represent the goddess of abundance.
