Myechyo Hiti is a traditional stone water spout, or hiti, located in the historic core of Kathmandu. Like others in the Kathmandu Valley, it features a carved stone makara, a mythical aquatic creature known locally as Hiti Manga. This creature is represented with a crocodile-like mouth, an elephant's trunk, and a flexible body that symbolizes the life force and the continuous flow of water.
