Bayt Al-Balad is a cream-colored, traditional merchant house that rises above the narrow, winding alleys of Jeddah’s historic district. You can pick it out by its weathered facade and the intricate wooden latticework of its roshan windows, which have filtered the desert sunlight and provided cooling shade for more than a century.
