Beit Al Matbouli

Beit Al Matbouli stands in the historic Al Balad district of Jeddah as a preserved example of traditional Hijazi architecture. Built in sixteen thirteen, the house is constructed from coral stone quarried from the Red Sea, a material chosen for its ability to breathe in the region's heavy humidity. Its most distinct exterior feature is the brown wooden rawasheen, the projecting latticework windows that shade the interior while drawing in sea breezes.
