The Heimwehfluhbahn is a vintage funicular railway recognizable by its two wooden cars, which have operated on the same track since nineteen oh six. It carries passengers one hundred ninety-seven meters from a base station near Interlaken West train station up to the Heimwehfluh hill. The line is built on a steep incline of up to sixty-nine percent, passing through trees as it ascends the hillside to an altitude of six hundred sixty-two meters.
