Fabrikkanal-Brücke

The Fabrikkanal-Brücke in Unterseen is marked by the rushing water of the canal passing beneath it, a reminder of the industrial history that once transformed this small town. In the mid-nineteenth century, the land surrounding the canal became a bustling industrial park where water power drove machinery for a wood-processing plant. This site was famous for manufacturing high-quality parquet flooring that reached markets as far away as Paris, eventually earning a silver medal at the Paris World’s Fair in eighteen seventy-eight.
