Harderbahn

The Harderbahn is a funicular railway characterized by a track laid in a deliberate, sweeping curve rather than a straight line. Opened on May fifteenth, nineteen oh eight, this railway was engineered in this arc-like shape specifically to avoid disfiguring the mountainside. It begins its ascent near the Interlaken Ost train station and climbs seven hundred fifty-five meters over the course of ten minutes, reaching a maximum gradient of sixty-four percent.
