Höhematte Park

The Höhematte is a fourteen-hectare open meadow in the center of Interlaken, defined by its complete lack of buildings, fences, or parking in a town otherwise filled with hotels and shops. While it functions as a public park, the land is actually private property collectively owned by descendants of the original local families who have protected the space from development for generations.
