The Manchester Crown Court on Minshull Street features heavy red brick walls, steep slate roofs, and an imposing corner tower. Designed by architect Thomas Worthington in the Gothic Revival style, the building was completed in eighteen seventy-one. It was originally constructed as the City Police and Sessions Courts, incorporating a distinctively tall chimney stack that mimics a campanile.
