Castlefield Bowl is an open-air amphitheatre recognizable by its sharp contrast between modern event infrastructure and the dark, weathered brick of the surrounding Victorian railway viaducts. The venue, which holds eight thousand people, occupies a sunken basin where the historic Rochdale Canal once ran. Its construction in nineteen ninety-three was part of a broader effort to revitalize the area as the country’s first Urban Heritage Park, turning a site defined by industrial decline into a center for summer concerts and community gatherings.
