The Castlefield Viaduct is a three-hundred-thirty-meter-long steel structure that stands out for its silvery, cylindrical iron pillars and lattice-like metal parapets. Built in eighteen ninety-two, it was designed by the engineering firm Heenan and Froude, the same team responsible for the iconic Blackpool Tower. During the height of the Victorian railway boom, the viaduct served as a vital artery for heavy rail traffic moving in and out of the Great Northern Warehouse and Manchester Central Station.
