Bernal Heights Park

Bernal Heights Park is defined by the steep, windswept grasslands that climb to a four hundred thirty-five-foot peak, offering panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline and the bay. This high, open space was part of an eighteen thirty-nine land grant given to Jose Cornelio Bernal, a soldier who served in the seventeen seventy-six expedition led by Juan Bautista de Anza.
