Free Library

The Mission Branch of the San Francisco Public Library sits at the corner of Twenty-fourth and Bartlett Streets. It is a landmarked building, notable for its architecture, which was designed by G. Albert Lansburgh and funded by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. When it opened in December nineteen fifteen, it provided a permanent home for a branch that had spent its first twenty-seven years moving between rented storefronts.
