The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts is defined by the massive mural titled Spirit of the Arts that covers its upper facade. Painted in nineteen eighty-two by artists Carlos Loarca, Manuel Villamor, and Betsie Miller-Kusz, the mural features allegorical figures, dancers, and skeleton imagery inspired by Incan, Mayan, and Aztec symbolism.
