The El Capitan murals cover the walls of a parking lot behind the ornate, historic facade of the former El Capitan Theatre on Mission Street. You can identify this site by the theater marquee that still stands above the entrance to the narrow breezeway leading into the lot. What was once a grand venue for film is now an open-air gallery, where concrete walls are densely layered with spray-painted works from artists around the world.
