Precita Eyes Muralists

Precita Eyes Muralists operates as a community arts organization in the Mission District, recognizable by its vibrant storefront on twenty-fourth street and the cluster of neighborhood murals it has shepherded into existence. Founded in nineteen seventy-seven by Susan and Luis Cervantes, the group emerged from a collaborative project at the Bernal Heights Library. Inspired by the pioneering all-women collective Las Mujeres Muralistas, the founders established a model where local youth and neighbors design and paint large-scale works together.
