Peoples Temple in San Francisco

The site at eighteen fifty-nine Geary Boulevard is now occupied by a United States Post Office branch, but during the nineteen seventies, this address held a three-story yellow brick building that served as the San Francisco headquarters for the Peoples Temple. Originally constructed for the Scottish Rite Masons in the early twentieth century, the structure featured a large auditorium capable of seating nearly two thousand people.
