One Market Plaza is a complex of three distinct office buildings situated at the intersection of Market Street and the Embarcadero. The most recognizable element is the contrast between the historic eleven-story Southern Pacific Building, completed in nineteen sixteen, and the two soaring, International Style towers that rise behind it. These later additions, the forty-three-story Spear Tower and the twenty-seven-story Steuart Tower, were constructed in nineteen seventy-six and joined the older structure into a single development.
