Ninth Street Historic Park is a collection of fourteen late nineteenth and early twentieth-century houses tucked into the middle of the Auraria Campus. You can identify the block by its intact row of Victorian-era homes, which contrast with the modern university buildings surrounding them. This single city block serves as a remnant of the original Auraria settlement, which began in eighteen fifty-eight when William Green Russell and his brothers arrived seeking gold.
