Denver Public Library: Central Library

The Denver Central Library is defined by its gold-domed rotunda, a colorful, multi-layered structure that stands as a deliberate departure from the stark, grey modernism of its predecessor. Completed in nineteen ninety-five, this postmodern building was designed by architect Michael Graves in partnership with the local firm Klipp Colussy Jenks DuBois. It sits between the city's art museum and Civic Center Park, anchoring a block that houses one of the largest library collections between Los Angeles and Chicago.
