Colorado State Capitol

The Colorado State Capitol is defined by its gleaming dome, plated in genuine twenty-four-karat gold. Sitting atop a bluff known as Brown's Bluff, the building serves as the center of state government and house for the General Assembly. Architect Elijah E. Myers designed the structure in a neoclassical style reminiscent of the United States Capitol, constructed primarily from white granite quarried near Gunnison.
