The Byron G. Rogers Federal Building and United States Courthouse is a sprawling complex defined by a towering eighteen-story office block set perpendicular to a low, rectangular courthouse building. Completed in nineteen sixty-five, the structure reflects a period when federal agencies were rapidly expanding their presence in Denver. The architecture firm James Sudler Associates, alongside Fisher and Davis, designed the site in the style of mid-twentieth-century Formalism, utilizing marble and pre-cast concrete panels to harmonize the scale of the new construction with the city’s older federal landmarks nearby.
