The Rossonian Hotel sits at a wedge-shaped intersection in the Five Points neighborhood, its three-story exterior formed into a distinct triangle that follows the angle of the street. Built in nineteen twelve as the Baxter Hotel, the structure became known as the Rossonian in nineteen twenty-nine under the management of Albert Henderson Wade Ross. It functioned as a social and commercial anchor for Denver’s African American community during a period when segregation laws forced Black travelers and performers to find lodging outside the downtown hotels.
