Daniels & Fisher

historic

The Daniels and Fisher Tower rises three hundred thirty feet above Sixteenth Street, distinguished by its blond brick, extensive terracotta trim, and a prominent four-sided clock. Modeled after the Campanile of Saint Mark’s in Venice, this twenty-one-story structure was completed in nineteen eleven as the centerpiece of a sprawling department store. At the time of its construction, it was the tallest building between the Mississippi River and the Pacific Coast, serving as an ambitious advertisement for the retail establishment that once surrounded it.
