The Molly Brown House Museum is a stone structure built in eighteen eighty-nine, recognizable for its heavy masonry and the distinctive, evenly coursed stonework quarried from Castle Rock and Manitou Springs. Designed by architect William Lang, this residence was one of the earliest homes in Denver to feature electricity, a modern luxury when it was built during the city's mineral boom. It became the home of Margaret Brown in eighteen ninety-four, a philanthropist and social activist who later achieved international notoriety for her survival of the Titanic sinking.
