Chicago Riverwalk - West End

park garden

The Chicago Riverwalk is a one-and-a-quarter-mile linear park that stretches along the southern bank of the main branch of the Chicago River. It is tucked between the water and the Beaux-Arts viaduct of Wacker Drive, a multi-level roadway that has defined the river's edge for over a century. The path is defined by a series of distinct, themed segments—or rooms—that navigate the tight space between the river and the city’s massive bridge foundations.
