LaSalle-Wacker Building

The LaSalle-Wacker Building at two hundred twenty-one North LaSalle Street is recognized by its forty-one stories of limestone and granite that mark the northern end of the LaSalle Street canyon. Completed in nineteen thirty, the structure was designed by the firm Holabird and Root, with Andrew Rebori serving as associate architect. While the original plans called for a thirty-seven story tower, the developers purchased an adjacent L-shaped property during the design phase, allowing for a more massive footprint and a taller finished building.
