Captain Cook Hotel

The Captain Cook Hotel is a two-story rendered brick building with a signature diagonal door on the corner of Kent Street and High Lane. It remains one of the few surviving late nineteenth-century corner hotels in the Millers Point area, tracing its history as a pub back to at least eighteen seventy-six. The structure reflects the maritime character of a neighborhood once dominated by wharf workers and ships’ crews, earning its name to evoke Sydney’s naval past.
