The Amalgamated Wireless Australasia building is recognizable by the prominent steel radio transmission tower perched atop its fifteen-story frame on York Street. Completed in nineteen thirty-nine, the structure features geometric Art Deco styling and polished trachyte stone at the ground level. Designed by architects Morrow and Gordon, it was intended to project a modern, progressive image for the company.
