Qtopia Sydney

Qtopia Sydney is a sprawling cultural campus housed within the heritage-listed former Darlinghurst Police Station. You can identify the main building by its distinctive sandstone facade, which stands near Taylor Square as a reminder of a complex past. Opened in twenty twenty-four, the museum occupies a site once synonymous with surveillance and the persecution of queer individuals. By transforming this specific station into a space for exhibition and education, the project seeks to shift the narrative of a location that was long a flashpoint for conflict between police and the LGBTQIA+ community.
