The Wayside Chapel consists of two brick buildings that blend into the surrounding neighborhood of Potts Point. Founded in nineteen sixty-four by Reverend Ted Noffs, the institution began in a single room with a dozen chairs inside an apartment block on Hughes Street. Noffs, a Methodist minister, aimed to create a space that prioritized social action and community connection over traditional Sunday preaching.
