Byron Hall sits at ninety-seven to ninety-nine Macleay Street, distinguishable by its ten-storey facade decorated with Roman arches, proportionally-squared windows, and a gold leaf palmette acroterion. Built in nineteen twenty-nine, this Art Deco apartment block was designed by architect Claud Hamilton in the inter-war classical free style. When first completed, it was the second tallest apartment building in Australia.
