Cadman's Cottage

Cadman’s Cottage is a small, solitary stone building in The Rocks that holds a strange secret about the geography of early Sydney. When it was built in eighteen sixteen, the house sat right on the edge of the harbor, with high tides coming within less than three meters of the front door. Today, the water has been pushed over one hundred meters away by centuries of land reclamation, leaving the cottage standing on dry ground far from the original shoreline.
